Spatial Awareness

Spatial awareness is a key foundation to develop good skills about aerial naviation and, in particular, to fly under IFR.

In fact, an accurate perception of the aircraft's position relative to a given radio-aid, a location, or a runway, can alleviate - quite considerably - the (sometimes overwhelming) workload a pilot has to deal with when navigating under solid IMC conditions.

A good spatial awareness can also be a useful tool for sound judgment and gross-error checking during the IFR navigation.

This skill - the perception of the aircraft's position relative to a location - can be practiced by visualizing the QDM (magnectic bearing to) and the QDR (magnectic bearing from) relative to a station.

The mobile application allows you to practice the visualization and location of QDMs and QDRs thus improving your spatial awareness. Have fun!
